Entrupy Authentication uses a combination of artificial intelligence and microscopy to objectively assess the authenticity of an item. When the item is scanned using our proprietary device and app, a set of microscopic images are collected, then our machine learning algorithms compare them against a database containing millions of records from known authentic and known counterfeit products. Based on the results of this comparison, the AI will either verify the item’s authenticity or return an “unverified” result. Each scan from an Entrupy device becomes part of the database, further training the algorithms and making our solution smarter and more accurate.
Entrupy Authentication has a 99.1 percent accuracy rate. While it is highly unlikely that an inauthentic item will be misidentified as authentic, we provide a financial guarantee to protect the certificate holder from financial losses due to errant results.

Entrupy’s technology was developed by a highly credentialed team of data scientists including two PhDs, who conducted four years of extensive research in conjunction with New York University. The technology is driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms trained with millions of microscopic images collected from known authentic and fake items. These technologies ensure the solution is completely objective. It never gets tired, it doesn’t have opinions, there are no such things as “bad days,” and it will never let personal feelings interfere with its decisions. And with every item scanned, Entrupy’s database grows and the algorithms get smarter, enabling ever-increasing accuracy.
Since the earliest days of Entrupy, we have partnered with most trustworthy and prominent businesses in retail and resale to source data from authentic items. We incorporated information from all over the world to ensure we had a rich, diverse and complete picture of products across multiple categories, vintages, styles and brands. These enabled us to collect data points from products produced across the decades, which is how we can authenticate products created well before our time.
Through the maintenance of these partnerships and the additional data collected during our day to day authentication operations, we are able to keep up with the newest releases from brands.
Collection of data from counterfeit items is a bit more covert, and there’s much we can’t disclose. We can say that our data teams scour the internet to ensure we have the highest quality data on fakes. We also accept donated counterfeit goods from our partners, which helps us strengthen our algorithms while also getting the fakes out of circulation.
Normal photographs simply do not have the level of microscopic detail required for Entrupy authentication. To accurately verify an item, it must be scanned with our proprietary device.

Entrupy offers convenient monthly or yearly subscription plans, all based on volume with no contracts or commitments. Subscription plans can be found here and for larger volume customers, please contact us so we can discuss your authentication needs and provide a personalized quote.
When you sign up with Entrupy there is a one-time set up fee of $299 per device, which includes training with one of our support team members as well as device replacement if the device malfunctions under normal use. Shipping fees are waived to the US & Canada only, international shipping is billed to your account at commencement.
Entrupy offers monthly and annual subscriptions. Additionally, you are able to select the number of authentications you expect to perform.
Whether you select a monthly subscription or an annual one, the commencement will be 7 days after receipt of the device OR on first use, whichever comes first. Subsequent billing will be based on this date.
If you exceed the allotment of authentications during your billing cycle, the overage will be included in the following billing cycle. The rate for each additional authentication is based on each plan and can be seen here.
Annual subscription plans with upfront payment for the year offer two main benefits. First, you have greater flexibility with how you use your allotment of authentications, as you immediately have access to annual total. Secondly, there is a 10% discount for the annual subscription.
For example, an annual subscription at the Petit rate will be $1,070.00. You immediately have access to all 60 submissions for the year. These can be completed at your own pace. Perhaps you spread them evenly, doing 5 authentications each month. Or perhaps you use the entire allotment in a single month.
If paying monthly, you would be charged $99 each month for the Petit plan, and at that level, you could perform 5 authentications per month. You cannot “roll over” unused authentications from month to month, and each authentication over the allotment will be
billed at a rate of $20 the next billing cycle.
We accept credit and debit cards as forms of payment via our payment processing service, Stripe.
No. Each verified item will receive a Certificate of Authenticity at no additional charge.
Entrupy does not classify items as counterfeit. Instead, they are either Authentic or Unidentified. Items receiving an Unidentified still count toward your allotment.
On rare occasions, the results may come back as “Not Supported” or “Invalid.” In these instances, the authentications will not count toward your total.
Entrupy Luxury Authentication is over 99 percent accurate, and we stand by our results. Still, to protect our customers and enable trust in transactions, we back every Entrupy Certificate with a financial guarantee. For most items, the process of scanning and submitting an item for authentication using the Entrupy App will take between three and five minutes. Once the item has been submitted, the results are returned within minutes. In some instances, it can take up to an hour, and Hermès Premium items (listed here) can take up to 24 hours.
You can use the device and begin the process at any time. Some brands and materials are eligible for “Instant” authentication, meaning the results will be issued within 60 seconds. For authentications submitted outside of support hours that require additional processing, results will be returned by 11:00 AM (US Eastern Time) the following business day.
Please note that, for the purpose of Financial Guarantee, Entrupy reserves a window of 15 minutes during Entrupy business hours to invalidate authentication results and certificates. For authentications performed outside of business hours,
this 15-minute window will begin immediately the next business day.
In order to submit an item for authentication you need the following.
– A registered account with a subscription to one of our monthly or annual plans
– Our integrated hardware device
– The Entrupy app (comes preloaded on our device)
– A strong WiFi connection
– Access to a power source
Entrupy has designed a device specifically for the luxury authentication service. Authentications cannot be performed without this patented, proprietary hardware.
Please note that, while you are an Entrupy customer, the Entrupy device is on lease to you. Should you cancel your account, we would require you to send the device back to us.
We have an excellent customer support team available via our in-app chat feature as well as by email and phone during the hours of 10am-7pm EST Monday-Friday.
Entrupy comes with no contracts or commitments, and you can upgrade your plan as your business grows. You can change your plan by informing us at least 7 days prior to the subscription renewal date, however there is no refund for any unused submissions.
Some exceptions apply, and customer plan change policies can be found in our Terms of Service.
