Entrupy Exhibits at Paris Retail Week 2021

It was such a blast attending Paris Retail Week, Europe’s largest gathering of professionals from the entire retail ecosystem, in September. Since the 2020 edition had been postponed, we felt like there was double the excitement in the exhibition hall at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, which is located in the City of Light’s 15th arrondissement. The sprawling three-day event event brought together over 25,000 decision makers, 600 exhibitors and 400+ speakers, and this year, the organizers unveiled a new, more-experiential format to encourage more sharing if knowledge, experiences and best practices by retail and e-commerce professionals from Europe and beyond.

We were honored to be one of the 32 exhibitors at the event’s startup village, a dedicated area highlighting innovative solutions for current and future challenges experienced by retailers given the industry’s constantly changing landscape. This was Entrupy’s second time at the event. It was here that, in 2018, we debuted our fingerprinting solution, which uses advanced computer vision techniques to help retailers and manufactures verify the identity of any physical item at any point in the product’s life cycle. Among the biggest pluses of Entrupy’s approach is that the ID is based on images, so nothing needs to be added to the item itself.

“As commerce has become more global, it’s harder for brands and retailers to keep on top of their supply chain, and anytime they lose visibility, the risk of corruption emerges,” says Entrupy co-founder and CEO Vidyuth Srinivasan. “From the factory to the store and beyond, Fingerprinting is a fast, easy way for businesses to virtually eliminate these risks. Without interrupting their existing processes and workflows, they can safeguard their customers and their own reputations from the harm caused by bad actors.”

Our last appearance at the event may have been a few years ago, but once we arrived, it felt like yesterday. We picked right back up where we left off, reconnecting with people we’d interacted with in 2018 and meeting new ones looking to collaborate to protect the supply chain. A major highlight for us was seeing the reactions to our instant product identification and authentication solutions: Fingerprinting, Luxury Authentication, and Sneaker Authentication. Thank you to all who stopped by our booth and to the coordinators for this event who did such a great job putting it together!

Of course, we couldn’t help but have a bit of fun outside the conference hall, so in the after hours, we had a great time connecting with our European customers and visiting their shop locations.

It’s always such a treat meeting people face to face while traveling, and we got a second opportunity to do exactly that this month at the annual California Association of Pawnbrokers meeting in Palm Springs.

We’d love to meet up with all of you as well, and we definitely have more (COVID-safe) travel on the horizon. Stay tuned for updates!
