How does Entrupy work?
Entrupy Authentication uses a powerful combination of Artificial Intelligence and high-resolution imaging technology to objectively verify an item’s authenticity. Using your device and the Entrupy app, you capture a set of detailed, high-resolution images. Our sophisticated machine learning algorithms instantly compare these images against a massive database containing millions of records of both authentic and counterfeit products. The AI then either verifies the item or provides an “unidentified” result, typically in under 5 minutes
How accurate are the results?
Entrupy Authentication has a 99.86 percent accuracy rate. On the off-chance we misidentify an item as authentic, we provide a financial guarantee to protect you from financial losses. How can a machine be more accurate than an expert with years of professional experience performing authentications?
Our technology was developed through four years of extensive research in conjunction with New York University by a highly credentialed team of data scientists. The difference is that our machine learning algorithms are trained with millions of highly detailed data points and images.
Unlike a human expert, the AI is entirely objective, it doesn’t get tired, it has no personal opinions, and it never has a “bad day.” At least one pair of eyes (expert authenticators) review all the authentications. Furthermore, with every single item you scan, the Entrupy database grows and our algorithms become smarter, continuously increasing the accuracy of our system.
Where do you get the information in your database?
We partner with the most trustworthy and prominent businesses in retail and resale to source data from authentic items around the world.
Our data teams scour the internet to ensure we have the highest quality data on fakes. We also accept donated counterfeit goods from our partners, which helps us strengthen our algorithms while also getting the fakes out of circulation.
