How does Sneaker Detection work?
Our team of engineers and sneaker experts work together to train our technology to determine if a sneaker is authentic or not, which analyzes thousands of unique data points on authentic and fake pairs of the world’s most popular sneaker styles.
What makes Entrupy’s sneaker authentication different than other services?
Our solution is the world’s first and only scalable, AI-driven sneaker authentication solution available for sneaker resellers. How much does sneaker authentication cost?

How does Fingerprinting work?
We capture the microscopic surface data of the physical object and create a visual, non-intrusive signature that is unique to that particular physical object. This signature is called the fingerprint. Consider two same iPhone models made in the same factory with the same date/time, will have different fingerprints as individual physical textures will be different. To the normal eye, it may not be visible; however our algorithm can differentiate them using microscopic images.
What types of products are supported by the Fingerprinting solution?
While fingerprinting as a technology is applicable across all the physical products, we are focused on supporting fingerprinting for the following categories of products viz., designer bags & accessories, watches, beauty products, wine & spirits, electronics and medical equipment.
How is it different from a bar code, QR code or traditional identity systems?
Traditional identity solutions such as bar code, QR code are intrusive and need to be attached or printed on the physical object. However, fingerprinting is completely non-intrusive and needs just a microscopic image for storing the identity of the product. Traditional solutions can be easily cloned, tampered whereas Fingerprint is robust, secure and tamper proof.
How fingerprinting can be used to combat return fraud?
During the point of sale, the product’s fingerprint is registered using the Entrupy device. When a customer returns the product, the Fingerprint of the returned product is matched against the registered fingerprint. If they are different, return transactions should not be allowed & return is processed only if the fingerprints match. For more information, refer to the Return Fraud Solution page.
How do I use Fingerprinting for my products?
Do share a few samples of your products with us and we can verify if Fingerprinting is ready for deployment for your products. Usually different surfaces (fabric, metal, rubber, paper etc require a bit of fine tuning & testing. We recommend you to start with a Proof of Concept (POC) and verify the solution for accuracy and deploy for scale.
How fingerprinting can be used to protect the supply chain?
Fingerprinting can be used to protect the entire supply chain of a product. It is recommended that Fingerprint is captured at the origin of the product (e.g. Factory floor) just before the product gets packed. Once the product gets shipped to warehouses and stores, Fingerprint of the product can be with the original registered fingerprint to track and trace the authenticity of the product. For more information, refer to the Supply Chain Protection solution.
